Myanmar (Burma) Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens


Tourist Visa Requirements
  • TOURIST VISA:

    • Submit your signed passport having two (2) completely blank “visa” pages and 6 months validity beyond the travel dates. If you need help securing, renewing or updating your passport, please contact GenVisa at 800-845-8968 for requirements and fees.
    • Two (2) Professional, High Resolution color passport type photos, taken within 6 months on complete white background without any shadows. Photo should be 2”x 2” with front view, no smiling, and no glasses.
    • Two (2) Original Completed and signed Application Forms (print from browser) and One(1) Work History Form per person.
    • Contact Form – Click HERE to print.
    • Copy of return or onward tickets or travel agency/airline itinerary in each traveler’s name.
    • Residents of NY, NJ and CT please use this Application Form.
    • Residents of AK, AZ, CA, HI, NM, OR, NV, WA, American Samoa, Guan and Northern Mariana Islands use this Application Form.

Business Visa Requirements
  • BUSINESS VISA

    • Submit your signed passport having two (2) completely blank “visa” pages and 6 months validity beyond the travel dates. If you need help securing, renewing or updating your passport, please contact GenVisa at 800-845-8968 for requirements and fees.
    • Two (2) Professional, High Resolution color  passport type photos, taken within 6 months on complete white background without any shadows. Photo should be 2”x 2” with front view, no smiling, and no glasses.
    • Two (2) Original Completed and signed Application Form. (print from browser) and One (1) work history form per person.
    • Residents of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut must use this Application Form.
    • Residents of AK, AZ, CA, HI, NM, OR, NV, WA, American Samoa, Guam and Northern Mariana Islands must use this Application Form.
    • Contact form – Click HERE to print.
    • Copy of return or onward tickets or travel agency/airline itinerary
    • First time applicants must provide both an Invitation Letter from the Myanmar Government (or) a Company registered in Myanmar AND a sponsor letter from his/her Company.
    • A business letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Burma/Myanmar, Visa Section, Washington D.C.

    The letter must explain all of the following:

    • The purpose of travel
    • Business reference to be visited in Burma/Myanmar
    • Guarantee financial support for the applicant while in Burma/Myanmar
    • Return transportation to the U.S.A

GenVisa Service Fee:

  • $99.00 per visa (4 weeks or more)
    • Add $45.00 per person for expedited service within 21 days
    • Add $75.00 per person for expedited service within 14 days.

 

Consular Fee:

  • $ 40.00 Per Tourist Visa Single Entry – The entry tourist visa is valid for a stay of exactly 4 weeks (28 days), not extendable. Visas are valid only for 3 (three) months from the date of issue, which cannot be renewed or refunded.
  • $60.00 Per Business Visa Single Entry – valid for 3 months for stay up to 10 weeks.
  • $200.00 Per Business Visa Multiple Entry. – valid for 6 months from the date of issue and issued at the discretion of the Embassy of Myanmar. If your application for a Multiple entry visa is denied and a single entry visa is issued the Embassy will not refund the difference in fees.

Optional insurance:
$12.00 per passport:
  • in the unlikely event that your passport is lost or damaged in transit. This will cover your full out of pocket visa(s) and passport replacement costs up to $2,000.

Continental USA Only:

  • $55.00 FedEx Letter (Next Business Day – up to three passports)
  • $48.00 FedEx 2nd Business Day
  • $85.00 FedEx Letter (Saturday Delivery)

Alaska, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands: 

Add $90.00 to the shipping fee chosen above

Notes About Our Myanmar (Burma) Visa & Passport Services

The Myanmar tourist visa is issued for a single entry for a period of 3 months from date of issue, provided the passport remains valid, for a period of stay not to exceed 28 days. Although vaccination certificate is not required for visa issuance, check with physician or local health clinic for vaccination requirements and recommendations.

Passport must have at least six months remaining validity and contain at least one blank visa page for visa to be issued. GenVisa can assist with obtaining U.S. Passports, whether new issue or renewal.

Special requirements exist for U.S. Official and Diplomatic passport holders.

Send ALL the requirements above (and a check payable to Generations Visa) via traceable form of mail to the Generations Visa office immediately. GenVisa will hand-carry your application to the Embassy if applicable. Please allow at least 14 business days of processing time.
